European Network for Rural Development survey

The European Network for Rural Development (EN RD) is asking Local Action Groups (LAGs) to respond to their survey on Local Development Strategies, specifically putting the strategy into action and monitoring and evaluation that is undertaken.

Following on from the previous survey issued by the EN RD to learn about LAG experiences in producing Local Development Strategies.

The EN RD would like to thank you for your commitment to support the work of the Focus Group on Better Local Development Strategies.

This questionnaire examines two main elements relating to the quality of local development strategy implementation, the effects of the processes through which you translate your strategy into action and the way in which you monitor and evaluate the delivery of your strategy.

The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FG4_LAG_questionnaire2. The EN RD has also issued some guidance on completing the survey. The deadline to complete the survey is Wednesday 29 February.

This work is being done as previous reports by the Council of Auditors and also information in the various Mid-term Evaluation reports have suggested a great variation in the level of guidance and support available, as well as the level of ongoing monitoring and evaluation activity.

The aim of this project is to review evidence from across all Member States and make sure the best practice is used to help shape the design of the new programme.

We will report back on how this project develops, in the meantime we'd really appreciate any time you can give to this excellent opportunity to help shape the way Local Development Strategies are supported in the next programme.
